July Community Partner: Village Ice Cream
Ice Cream. Who doesn’t love a scoop or two of Salted Caramel. Wait, maybe you prefer Huckleberry Swirl or Earl Grey or maybe you are solid with Vanilla Bean. Your deliciousness might not be mine but we can likely agree that Village is one of the best ice creams around. Even if you don’t do dairy you will still scream for their non dairy alternatives of Lime or Chocolate Coconut Milk.
Small batches of goodness. Calgary made. 6 years in the making now. The owner Billy first dreamed up the idea of Village Ice Cream while he was sitting on his Grandma’s porch enjoying a pint himself. How grateful we are! In fact Village just celebrated their 6th birthday.
They started out in an off the beaten path destination close to East Village. You can find this first location tucked into an alley between 10th avenue and 11th avenue. I know the first time I went I wondered where I was being taken. I think it added to the adventure of my ice cream date with another yogi. It felt like the best kept secret at the time. Thank goodness the words out so that we can enjoy our Village at three locations across the city now that include Brittania Plaza and Garrison Corner.
When you do go you might see a line. It will move fast. Guaranteed. Then you choose whether you want to hang out, to enjoy a date, or to have a family reunion over a cone or two. If you just have time for a pint then bypass the line and go straight in and you can grab and go.
Whatever you enjoy be sure to get a receipt and bring it back to the studio and enjoy a free yoga class on us between July 1 -31.
