Sharing a passion for Yoga and Sound, @dawnbayersyoga and her husband Craig have developed a unique immersive experience to share with you during their visit from Victoria, B.C.
 
Craig mixes music and sound live while Dawn leads a Flow followed by Yin and Yoga Nidra; the practice is coupled with visceral electronic music, natural sounds, delta waves and binaural beats to stimulate your senses creating mind-body integration.
 
Immersion is designed utilizing four high-fidelity speakers to create the immersive three-dimensional soundscape; you will feel the sound envelope your senses. This is more than yoga with music; they have curated emotive music and sound to take you on a journey inwards, moving towards a deep meditative state.
 
Immersion is an interactive, movement and sound experience - a shared energetic experience by all who participate.

When we deny our innate ability to process unpleasant emotions related to hardship or traumatic experiences, our body memorizes these events and creates dysfunctional associations within our nervous system.
Although the body is incredibly brilliant, its chronic experience of vigilance and lack of a sense of safety may keep us stuck in the past and can, in turn, create tension and dis-ease within our physical tissues.

Through supported cathartic movement, we have the ability to uproot and reprocess stuck experiences in our bodies without the intervention and dominance of the analytical mind.

The evening will include energizing and detoxifying movement combined with a somatic release technique of neurogenic tremoring, commonly used as a trauma-informed therapeutic intervention.
Neurogenic tremoring is an innate mechanism within our neurobiology and is an automatic response to remediate the symptoms of shock. Hence, the gentle evocation of the trembling mechanism can help passively loosen and digest the physical, neurological, and emotional tension held within the body.

Join me in this supportive ceremony of movement, remittance, and reconnection.

Please bring an item for the altar, water, a mat, and a journal.

No previous experience is necessary; come ready to move and be moved.
