I felt incredibly grateful this year to host two Christmas parties at Santosha. They felt busy and vibrant, filled with people catching up, beautiful smiles and a lot of laughter. I felt so at home and happy. It made me feel really thankful to have such an incredible community of beautiful people surrounding me, to be in a place where I feel grounded, happy, safe and alive… It’s such an incredible gift and one that I don’t take for granted, especially not now that I am not around as often as I was before…
This year we will be spending Christmas in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. In many ways it’s really different, it’s hot, really hot, we’ll probably be on the beach at some point, my kids & Alastair will probably be surfing and I’ll no doubt be swimming. The food will be a little different as well, we’ll have turkey, but also food from a lot of other Christmas traditions around the world. There won’t be any snow of course but the rest will be pretty similar. The Christmas lights this year are gorgeous, the whole town is lit up and we really appreciate it as it doesn’t totally feel like Christmas when it’s so hot out. We’ve started to make some really deep friendships during our visits here and we’ll be celebrating with some of our closest friends. The best part for all of us is that our eldest son Josh will be joining us on Christmas day! We can barely wait for his arrival…
This year has been a big a one for me, I’ve spent a lot of time sitting with what makes me feel satisfied, happy and alive. I definitely don’t have all of the answers but I’m planning on doing more of what brings me joy, more of what lights me up because when I’m more fulfilled I am happier and when I’m happier my family is happier.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
